That assumption cost me years of mediocre material and a few unnecessary failures. Today's small customer is tomorrow's bigger customer—but even if it isn't, good support has value.

So if you're a small shop debating whether to call a big brand, make the call. Worst case, they say no. Best case, you get a human who knows that a ferret owner's thermostat problem and a two-roll teflon order have one thing in common: both get solved faster when you ask the right person.
